About Us
Rhymer and Wells have been featured at countless restaurants, pubs, bars and events, from the Cameron Bandshell to backyard picnics. They play popular music that people remember and love and a wide variety of genres including pop, rock, blues, jazz, folk and everything in between. They get asked back because they play the right music at the right volume to perfectly suit the venue and the crowd. They can play for large crowds, at dances or intimate smaller settings like private parties and backyards.
Their combined years of experience and professionalism along with great choices in songs and beautiful harmonies have resulted in them being one of the most popular duos on the music circuit.
Deb Rhymer
Based in Victoria BC, Deb Rhymer has been singing for many years, first starting out in the rock/pop genre. Along with Victor Wells, she is part of the duo Rhymer and Wells. Rhymer and Wells are regularly featured at many restaurants, clubs and events. They are known for playing popular songs that people love and remember. In addition, Deb has played at many festivals and venues as part of her other project, the Deb Rhymer Band. The band was nominated for a Canadian Maple Blues Award for Best New Artist in 2019. Her album “Don’t Wait Up” was a semi finalist in the International Blues Challenge. The album also includes several songs co-written by Rhymer/Wells. Deb loves to sing a wide variety of genres, styles and songs as well as sharing her original music.
Victor Wells
Victor Wells was born and raised in the Chicago area, where his earliest musical influences were Chicago blues, jazz, the Beatles and 60’s rock and roll. At age fifteen, he began to perform around Chicago in various rock and blues bands. Since that time, his playing experience has ranged from television antre productions in Toronto, Chicago and British Columbia, to street singing in London & Paris, a few stints in Tokyo as a musician and studio singer, as well as outdoor festival engagements across Canada.
As a solo artist, Victor performs a wide variety of styles: blues, R & B, rock, reggae, country and ragtime, all blended tastefully in a very personal style. Now based in Victoria, BC, Victor also performs with Rhymer & Wells (with Deb Rhymer), The Admirals, and Butts Giraud and Friends.
